Who We Are
We're Acktak Transport Co., based right here on Nantucket. We move vehicles, freight and household goods between the island, Hyannis and the mainland.
Moving anything on or off an island is complicated. We handle the whole puzzle: pickup at your door, the ferry logistics, and delivery or handoff on the other side. You get one local point of contact who treats your vehicle and your things with care.

Common questions
Can you move my car off Nantucket?
Yes. Moving vehicles between Nantucket and Hyannis is the core of what we do, in both directions, and we can arrange transport well past Hyannis too.
How often do you make trips?
In season we run Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and off season we travel weekly. Call or text for availability.
How far ahead should I book?
Most moves are booked a week or two ahead. Sometimes we can go sooner, so just ask.
Do you tow on the island?
Yes. If your vehicle breaks down on Nantucket, call or text us and we'll work out the best way to get it moved.
Can you move a car that doesn't run, or take away a junk car?
Yes. Tell us whether it rolls, steers and brakes. Tricky situations are quoted case by case.
Do you move furniture and household goods?
Yes, on island and between Nantucket and the mainland.
Do you offer enclosed transport?
Yes, for the mainland part of the trip through our partner carriers, by custom quote. Our island equipment is open transport.
How much does it cost?
It depends on what's being moved, the route and the timing. Send a quote request and we'll get back to you with a price for your move.
